CES New Student Registration Information

STEPS TO COMPLETE THE 2024-25 CANTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENT REGISTRATION PROCESS

 
 
New Student Online Registration will begin April 1, 2024 for students enrolling in pre-kindergarten - 2nd grade. Canton ISD will be using two separate programs for registration this year.
 
  • ParentPortal - This will be used for the online enrollment process (can be accessed through a computer and by phone).
  • Permission Click - This will be used for the forms that are specific to each campus and not offered through ParentPortal (can be accessed through a computer and by phone).
 
Canton ISD will be sending this information out through SchoolMessenger and will be accessible on the campus website at es.cantonisd.net.

Kindergarten Roundup -  April 11, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. for last names ending in A - K and 9:30 a.m.  - 10:15 for last names ending in L - Z.

Pre-Kindergarten - April 12, 2024 at 9:00

 

CES New Student Registration

If you are NEW to Canton Elementary School you will need to complete and provide the information in the following order:

  1. Complete the online registration process through the ParentPortal link BELOW (when you access the account, use the “Create Account” tab.
  2. Complete the CAMPUS FORMS using the links below. 
  3. Upload PROOF OF RESIDENCE (water, electric, or monthly gas bill) into the CES Proof Of Residence online form or email it to the campus registrar at [email protected]. If the bill is not in the parent/guardian name, contact the campus registrar for further instructions.

 

  1. Deliver the following documents to the CES campus in person:
    1. “OFFICIAL”  birth certificate.
    2. Student’s social security card.
    3. Parent/guardian drivers license.
    4. Student’s current shot record.
    5. Proof of income for pre-kindergarten students only (last W-2 or 2 current paycheck stubs).

PLEASE NOTE: When you COMPLETE EACH CAMPUS FORM there is an option to SUBMIT ANOTHER RESPONSE. DO NOT SUBMIT ANOTHER RESPONSE UNLESS YOU ARE REGISTERING ANOTHER STUDENT FOR CANTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

 

To convert the forms into different languages click on the ENGLISH down button in the top right hand side of the form and choose your language.

ParentPortal Issues

Parents are having issues accessing the correct ParentPortal login screen using Google Chrome. If you are using Google Chrome or any other browser and the login screen looks gray (the correct screen will be brown/black/orange) and does not have the four tabs across the top (Login, Create Account, New Student Enrollment & CISD Documents), please switch to the Firefox browser.

PLEASE NOTE: All registration steps MUST be completed before a student is placed in a teacher's class.

If you do not have access to a computer or internet, you may complete the online registration at the Canton ISD Administration Office at the following times:

Monday - Thursday - 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

Monday - Thursday - 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the summer.

If your child will be 4 years of age on or before September 1, 2024 and meets one of the PK qualifiers listed below, you are eligible to complete the registration process at CES.

 

  1. Be unable to speak and comprehend the English language.
  2. Be educationally disadvantaged, which means a student eligible to participate in the national free or reduced-price lunch program.
  3. Be homeless, as defined by 42 United States Code (U.S.C.) Section 1143a, regardless of residency of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child's guardian or other person having lawful control of the child.
  4. Be the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority.
  5. Be the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty.
  6. Be in, or have been in, the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) following an adversary hearing held as provided by Section 262.201, Family Code.
  7. Be the child of a person who has received the Star of Texas Award as a peace officer (3106.002), firefighter (3106.003), or emergency medical first responder (3106.004).
