2025-26 New Pre-K & Kg Student Registration Information

If your child is a new Pre-K or Kindergarten student at Canton Elementary School, please complete and provide the following information:

Beginning Date for Registration: April 1, 2025

Deadline to Complete Registration: May 15, 2025

Pre-K & KG Roundup: April 10, 2025 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Step 1: Complete ParentPortal (link attached below)

  • Log into or "Create Account" in ParentPortal and fill out the required registration information.

Step 2: Complete Campus Forms (link attached below)

    • Upload Proof of Residence (Required): Upload a current electric, water, or natural gas billing statement
 
    • Upload Immunization Records (Required): Upload  updated immunization records or new records for Pre-K/Kindergarten students.
 
    • If you upload the wrong document, you will need to redo the Campus Forms.
          •  

Both steps must be completed, along with the required uploads and payment, by May 15, 2025, to finalize registration.

Deliver the following documents to CES during Pre-K & Kindergarten Roundup or if you miss this event, bring to the campus when you enroll:

  1. “OFFICIAL”  birth certificate.
  2. Student’s social security card.
  3. Parent/guardian drivers license
  4. Proof of income for pre-kindergarten students only (last W-2 or 2 current paycheck stubs).

If your child will be 4 years of age on or before September 1, 2025 and meets one of the PK qualifiers listed below, you are eligible to complete the registration process at CES.

 

  1. Be unable to speak and comprehend the English language.
  2. Be educationally disadvantaged, which means a student eligible to participate in the national free or reduced-price lunch program.
  3. Be homeless, as defined by 42 United States Code (U.S.C.) Section 1143a, regardless of residency of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child's guardian or other person having lawful control of the child.
  4. Be the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority.
  5. Be the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty.
  6. Be in, or have been in, the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) following an adversary hearing held as provided by Section 262.201, Family Code.
  7. Be the child of a person who has received the Star of Texas Award as a peace officer (3106.002), firefighter (3106.003), or emergency medical first responder (3106.004)
