Adventure Awaits with Mrs. Newton

Hello and welcome!

 

My name is Mrs. Newton and I'm so excited to be your child's second grade teacher this year at Canton Elementary. This is going to be a year full of growth, learning, and adventure--and I can't wait to take this journey with your child!

 

I've been teaching for five years and I absolutely love working with second graders. It's such a specail year full of curiosity, independence, and big academic leaps. My classroom is a place where students feel safe, loved, and empowered to try their best. 

 

I have a passion for making learning fun and meaningful through hands-on activities, small group instruction, and lote of movement and engagement. We use Bluebonnet Foundations for explicit phonics instruction, interactive centers, and Sharon Wells math curriculum to build strong foundational skills. I believe every child can succeed with the right support and encoragement--and I'm here to provide just that!

 

Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading a good book, and improving my teaching skills.
